Monica Paz will be back in DC in May and will teach two days of workshops at Colvin Run. Don’t miss this fantastic opportunity to learn milonguero style tango from Monica, a Buenos Aires treasure. Throughout the weekend, she will take complex tango concepts and break them down in a manner that will be clear and simple, making it easy for students to learn this particular tango style.
Using musicality, she will teach the mechanics and nuances of the milonguero style. She teaches students to connect not only with their partner but also with the music to discover the greatest potential of the dance.
The workshop consists of six (6) one and a half-hour lessons, for a total of 9-hours, Saturday and Sunday, May 15-16, from 12:00 noon to 5:30 PM.
Pre-registration required. You may register as a couple or individually. In order to maintain a good balance, the class size will be limited to 18 leaders and 18 followers.
Cost for weekend pass is: $100. You can register and pay online with a major credit card or PayPal account. To register, click this link to go to the Events Calendar to enroll. Don't delay, this class filled up quickly last year. We will accept students on a first-come-first-served basis.

About Monica Paz
Monica Paz was born and raised in Buenos Aires. Tango has been her full time profession for the past 15 years. She is deeply committed to the tango milonguero style, the “real” milonguero style with chest-to-chest connection. This is the style she dances at the Milongas Porteñas (in Buenos Aires) each week with the best milongueros. She feels lucky to have had this experience especially with Gavito and Tete. However, there are many more well known tango dancers she partners with in Buenos Aires, including Chiche Ruberto and Nestor La Vitola, among others. Below is the link to her channel on YouTube, where you can see her dancing with them. www.youtube.com/user/monicapaz2x4
Monica has developed a highly efficient style of teaching and can work as both leader and follower. She has the ability to communicate to both the male and female roles in social Tango dancing. In 2008 and 2009 she brought her teaching style and passion for the tango milonguero style to the United States and Europe, offering classes and workshops, and a number of tango performances, primarily on the East Coast of the U.S., Belgium and the Netherlands.
Checkout Monica's Website: www.tangopormilongueros.com
Monica is available for private lessons on May 13, 14, and 17. If you would like to set up a private lesson, please contact Eugenia Park at 301-346-5079 or email at eugeniap@mris.com
Warmest Regards,
Tom & Susan

Colvin Run during December 5, 2009 snowstorm.

The Blue Moon Milonga is canceled tonight due to the snowstorm. We're sorry the weather is interfering with your dancing.
The next tango event at Colvin Run is Mehmet and Linda's 2nd Friday Milonga Color on February 12. Don't miss it!
The next time you are at Colvin Run, please check out the new quarry tile floor in the kitchen. We have also installed new tile in both bathrooms along with new plumbing fixtures. The black and white hexagonal floor tile and white pedestal sinks revive the bathrooms in a vintage 1930's style. Soon, we plan to add new doors to the ladies' room stalls - no more curtains - and repaint both rooms.
Mark your calendar; the next Blue Moon Milonga will be on Saturday, May 29.
